Most visitors to Haeundae head straight for the beach or the skyscraper night view, but the back alleys here hide old shops locals still happily queue for. This list is pulled from the Busan city government’s official “2026 Taste of Busan” guide — not a random blogger’s picks, but an actual annual-review, city-vetted list, so the reliability bar is higher.

1. Geumsu Bokguk Haeundae Main Branch (금수복국 해운대본점)

Open for over 50 years, this is one of the defining old shops for pufferfish soup (복국) in Busan. Ingredients are kept fresh and every sauce is made in-house — and it’s open 24 hours, so you can still get a bowl even if you land in Haeundae late at night.

The only Korean branch of a well-known Fukuoka ramen shop, located on Haerihan Street. It’s become a must-eat stop for younger travelers visiting Haeundae in recent years — lines form as soon as it opens.

3. Dal Thai (달타이)

Over a decade on Dalmi-ro in Dalmaji-dong, this Thai restaurant has practically become part of the street’s scenery. The kitchen is staffed entirely by Thai chefs, and ingredients are either imported directly from Thailand or sourced through contract farms — the flavor doesn’t compromise on authenticity.

4. Dongbaekseom Hoetjip (동백섬횟집)

5. LAB XXIV by Kumuda

For something more special: chef Edward Kwon’s fine-dining French cuisine built on local Busan ingredients. In 2023 it made the “La Liste 1000” ranking of the world’s top restaurants — the only Busan restaurant to make the cut — a good pick for an anniversary dinner.
