Haeundae Food Guide: From a 50-Year Pufferfish Soup Shop to a Michelin-Level French Bistro

Haeundae isn't just beach and skyline — its back alleys hide city-certified restaurants. From local pufferfish soup to a world's-top-100 restaurant, here's how to map out a Haeundae food route.

Most visitors to Haeundae head straight for the beach or the skyscraper night view, but the back alleys here hide old shops locals still happily queue for. This list is pulled from the Busan city government’s official “2026 Taste of Busan” guide — not a random blogger’s picks, but an actual annual-review, city-vetted list, so the reliability bar is higher.

The picks below range from everyday to high-end, and are mostly clustered around Haeundae Beach Road and Dalmaji-dong, close enough to walk or grab a quick taxi between.

1. Geumsu Bokguk Haeundae Main Branch (금수복국 해운대본점)

Geumsu Bokguk pufferfish soup

Open for over 50 years, this is one of the defining old shops for pufferfish soup (복국) in Busan. Ingredients are kept fresh and every sauce is made in-house — and it’s open 24 hours, so you can still get a bowl even if you land in Haeundae late at night.

  • Signature: Silver pufferfish soup (clear/spicy) ₩15,000 / Honey pufferfish soup from ₩22,000
  • Address: 23 Jung-dong 1-ro 43beon-gil, Haeundae-gu
  • Phone: 051-742-3600
  • Hours: 24 hours, open every day

2. Nagahama Mangetsu (나가하마 만게츠)

Nagahama Mangetsu ramen

The only Korean branch of a well-known Fukuoka ramen shop, located on Haerihan Street. It’s become a must-eat stop for younger travelers visiting Haeundae in recent years — lines form as soon as it opens.

  • Signature: Nagahama ramen ₩11,000 / Ramen + dumpling set ₩18,000
  • Address: 1F Daeyoung Building, 57 U-dong 1-ro, Haeundae-gu
  • Phone: 051-731-0886
  • Hours: 11:00-15:30 / 16:30-20:30, closed on regular off-days

3. Dal Thai (달타이)

Dal Thai Thai cuisine

Over a decade on Dalmi-ro in Dalmaji-dong, this Thai restaurant has practically become part of the street’s scenery. The kitchen is staffed entirely by Thai chefs, and ingredients are either imported directly from Thailand or sourced through contract farms — the flavor doesn’t compromise on authenticity.

  • Signature: Soft-shell crab curry ₩33,000 / Pad kra pao pork ₩23,000
  • Address: 1F, 193 Dalmi-ro, Haeundae-gu
  • Phone: 051-741-1122
  • Hours: 11:00-20:00, open every day

4. Dongbaekseom Hoetjip (동백섬횟집)

Dongbaekseom Hoetjip raw fish sashimi

A live-fish sashimi specialist. Order sashimi and you’ll get a full spread of octopus, sea squirt, abalone, grilled flatfish, and fried shrimp as side dishes, finished off with a pot of spicy fish stew. Most fish are priced at daily market rate.

  • Address: 17 Haeundae Haebyeon-ro 209beonna-gil, Haeundae-gu
  • Phone: 051-741-3888
  • Hours: 12:00-14:00 / 16:00-22:00, closed on regular off-days

5. LAB XXIV by Kumuda

LAB XXIV by Kumuda French fine dining

For something more special: chef Edward Kwon’s fine-dining French cuisine built on local Busan ingredients. In 2023 it made the “La Liste 1000” ranking of the world’s top restaurants — the only Busan restaurant to make the cut — a good pick for an anniversary dinner.

  • Lunch set: ₩80,000-95,000 / Dinner set: ₩150,000-175,000
  • Address: 41 Songjeong Gwangeogok-ro, Haeundae-gu
  • Phone: 051-701-1301
  • Hours: 11:30-15:00 / 17:30-22:00, closed Mondays
