1. Dadaepo Beach — the classic head-on sunset

This is where you can watch the sun sink straight into the horizon, dead ahead. The beach is wide, so there’s no need to fight for space, and in summer a fountain show sometimes runs timed to sunset. There are several ocean-view cafes nearby, making it easy to grab a coffee right after watching the sun go down.

2. Igidae — a sunset you walk through

The coastal trail itself is the main attraction here. As you walk, you catch the sun setting through gaps in the rocks from different angles — a completely different experience from sitting in one spot. Wear comfortable shoes and give yourself plenty of time.

3. Molundae — a quiet sunset past the forest path

Less known than the other spots on this list, making it a good pick if you’d rather avoid crowds. You’ll need to walk through a forest path to reach it, so aim to arrive with plenty of time before sunset.

4. Eulsukdo — sunset with migratory birds

A wetland park at the mouth of the Nakdong River, popular with photographers for the chance to catch migratory birds and sunset in the same frame during certain seasons. Bikes are available to rent, so you can ride around and find your own favorite angle.

5. Huinnyeoul Culture Village — village and sea in one frame

Best timing for photos

10-20 minutes before the sun fully sets, as the sky starts turning orange-red, gives the richest colors, and the “blue hour” right after the sun goes down is also worth sticking around for. Sunset time varies a lot by season (after 7pm in summer, around 5pm in winter), so check that day’s sunset time in advance and plan your arrival with some buffer.
