Busan Fireworks Festival 2026: Nov 7 Viewing Spot Guide

Once a year, the entire Gwangan Bridge becomes a stage for fireworks — that’s the Busan Fireworks Festival (부산불꽃축제), the city’s biggest annual event.

The 2026 date is confirmed: Saturday, November 7, 7:00-8:00pm, across Gwangalli Beach, Igidae and Dongbaekseom Island. Roughly a million people pack into Gwangalli every year, filling the beach, hotels, and every street in between. Here’s the blunt truth first: ocean-view rooms for festival day typically sell out 2-3 months in advance, and prices climb along with demand. If you’ve already decided to go, now is the time to book (choose a free-cancellation rate).

Kent Hotel Gwangalli by Kensington Directly across from the beach, with upper-floor ocean-view rooms facing Gwangan Bridge head-on — essentially a private box seat on festival night.

Hotel Homers Set slightly toward the southern end of the beach, with friendlier prices while still keeping a clear view of the bridge.

1. Center of Gwangalli Beach — the classic prime spot

The fireworks launch directly from Gwangan Bridge right in front of you, with music perfectly synced to the show — the most immersive spot there is. The catch: everyone in Busan knows about it, so you’ll need to lay out a picnic mat by 2-3pm to claim good ground.

2. Minlak Waterside Park — a quieter angle for photos

Located at the northern end of Gwangan Bridge, this spot lets you frame both the side of the bridge and the fireworks together — a favorite among photographers. Crowds are lighter than the beach, the sound is a bit weaker, but the view is wide open.

3. Igidae — the full panorama from a distance

Looking across the bay, you get the whole show in one sweeping view — good if you’d rather skip the crowds and see the “big picture.” Getting there: Line 2 to Kyungsung Univ./Pukyong Natl. Univ. Station, then bus 24, 27, 39 or 131 to the Igidae entrance. Take care on the coastal trail after dark.

4. Dongbaekseom Island — the official viewing area on the Haeundae side

Dongbaekseom is also an official viewing area: you watch the bridge fireworks from the Haeundae side, with the crowd more spread out than on Gwangalli Beach. Walk from Dongbaek Station (Line 2) Exit 1.

5. From the water — yacht and cruise tours

Don’t want to fight a million people for a spot? Watching the fireworks from the sea is a completely different experience — no crowds blocking your view, a head-on angle, and reflections on the water as a bonus. Yacht tours for festival day sell out every year, so book as soon as the date is confirmed.

6. From your hotel room — the most comfortable option (details below)

The sea breeze on a November night is bitterly cold. Watching the fireworks through a floor-to-ceiling window in a heated room is a habit many returning visitors say they can’t give up once they’ve tried it.

Side-view hotels: toward Haeundae / Marine City

💡 Booking tip: note or call ahead to confirm a room facing the fireworks — the same hotel can offer a completely different experience depending on which way the room faces.

Transport and surviving festival day

• The subway is your safest bet: the official guide points to Gwangan Station Exit 3 (Line 2) for Gwangalli and Dongbaek Station Exit 1 for Dongbaekseom. No parking is provided, and roads around the venue are restricted on the day (2026 details not announced yet).
• Drop your luggage first: dragging a big suitcase through the crowd is close to impossible — leave it at the hotel, or use a coin locker or luggage storage if you haven’t checked in yet.
• Head home a little later: subway stations get extremely crowded right after the show. If you’re not in a rush, sit down at a nearby cafe for a while first — much more comfortable, and one of the biggest perks of staying in Gwangalli.

Since the festival falls on a Saturday, the smoothest plan is a 2-night, 3-day trip arriving Friday and leaving Sunday:

• Day 1 (Fri): Gimhae Airport → Nampo-dong / Gamcheon Culture Village → check in at Gwangalli
• Day 2 (Sat): Haeundae / Cheongsapo during the day → back to Gwangalli in the evening for the fireworks 🎆
• Day 3 (Sun): Songdo Skywalk or Seomyeon shopping → airport
